What this is
Namibia Compass is a collection of 36 single-purpose tools covering the decisions that actually matter when you plan a Namibia trip — when the Etosha waterholes are most active, what pressure your tires need on the C19 gravel, how the Deadvlei shadow falls in April vs September, whether your self-drive route actually saves money over a guided one, and how to visit a Himba village without being a tourist problem.
Each tool has its own page with an interactive widget, an explanation of what it solves, how to read the output, limitations, FAQs, and sources. Nothing here is generic travel writing — every page is built around a real decision a real traveler faces.

About this site
Namibia Compass is an independent, ad-supported set of 36 single-purpose tools for travelers planning or already on a Namibia trip.
What it is: a calculator-and-decoder site. Every page has an interactive widget, plus enough surrounding text to actually use it.
What it isn't: a booking site, a tour operator, a travel agency, or an official source. We do not sell anything. We do not take commissions. Pricing data (park fees, fuel, tours) is hard-coded from publicly listed 2026 reference rates and may differ from your actual cost; treat every number as a planning anchor, not a quote.
How it was built: by someone who has driven Namibia's gravel roads and waited three hours at the Okaukuejo waterhole for one black rhino. Editorial decisions — what to include, what to leave out — are based on what's actually annoying or expensive to get wrong.
Who it's for: independent self-drivers, first-time safari planners on a fixed cost ceiling, photographers chasing light, and anyone who has googled "is Dune 45 harder than Big Daddy" three times and got three different answers.
